In the end, would you say it is true that ,regardless of political beliefs, all people want the same things?

I mean we all just want peace, prosperity, companionship, love, to be accepted, a roof over our heads, food on the table, family, friends, a clean world, a poverty free world and to do what makes us happy? Would you say that this is what all people want, we just disagree on how to get there? If so, do you think that the lack of compromise, today, between different political beliefs and religious beliefs is stopping us from reaching this goal and maybe if we just had more compromise, we could make it work?
