Ladies: when you were young did your mom teach you to do very stereotypical things?

My parents never forced me to learn anything. Like you, I chose what I wanted to learn and I learned it. I didn't choose only stuff I liked, though. I learned how to cook, clean, sew, do laundry, etc., because I knew I needed to know how to do these things, not because I enjoyed doing them. I've learned "male skills," too, such as how to use a drill, hammer, saw, etc. and how to change a tire, and for the same reasons - I should know how to do it.
