Does science disprove religion?

Science is what disproves what religion believes as truth The more science finds out about what has really happened it lets religion down in a nice way. |For example 50 years ago it was against all religions that there was a big bang or evolution to be truth. You may have gotten banned from your religion if you said you believe they may have happened. Now religion has no quarrels about a big bang happening or even now there is room for them to understand that evolution and religion can co-exist Why is it that we don't hear about science saying there must be a creator on any of the cable channels like the discovery channel or national geographic. Could it be because science has to watch what they say about a god? Or could it be that since science deals mostly in what we call facts and religion doesn't?
