Was the Gasol trade insanely unfair?

I don't think Stern should have allowed that trade, because the Lakers got an all-star for essentially nothing. Any team in the league could have matched the crap that Memphis got for Gasol. So the way I see it there is now 29 NBA teams. Memphis is now the Lakers farm team or minor league team. They should trade Rudy Gay for Coby Karl next.
